Michael Croudace (from Perth in Western Australia) visited the Basil Hall Editions studio in Darwin on a couple of occasions as part of a group of art lovers and collectors aboard the Orion. This ship takes tours around art sites and art centres in Arnhem Land and the Kimberley regions of northern Australia in the Dry Season. How far away this all seems as he pulls one of his first mono prints off the larger of our two new presses. As an architect, Michael has naturally been fascinated by the Greek village and the organic way in which building takes place, seemingly free of planning or conventional design. Lizzie Horne (Armidale, NSW) prepares her plate for printing in the background.
