The team has just returned to Australia after another exciting Skopelos Printmaking in Paradise adventure. This year, David Frazer joined Pam and me. This meant that we could offer wood engraving for the first time. David used a new studio we created above the workshop space, so each of us was able to work with 6 people at a time, as Pam catered for us all (17 for breakfast!) and kept up our supplies. I offered copper plate etching as usual, and some of our artists also tried lino and collagraphs; each choosing their own program after the first few days of set exercises. At the end of the fortnight David assembled artists books for the 12 participants. Each book contained 9 wood engravings, a lino and two collagraphs, plus a beautiful little title page carved by David. The books were launched at an in-house exhibition we had at the conclusion of the workshop. David is keen to return in 2018, so if you are interested in next year’s workshops, to be held in early September, let me know soon! We will take up to 12 people again (plus interested partners) and spaces this year filled fast. I plan to hold the price for the fortnight at $2950 (the 2016 price) for Early Bird enrollers. We will need a $500 deposit before December 31 to secure this great price.
